A new Icelandic crime writer in Germany

SporLilja Sigurðardóttir is a new crime writer in Iceland, having published her first novel Spor (Traces) in 2009. Her publisher in Iceland, Bjartur, has announced that a sequil will be coming out later this year. The publishing company Rowohlt in Germany has bought the rights to Spor, and thus German speaking fans of Icelandic crime fiction can look forward to getting to know a new author in 2011.

Among other Icelandic crime writers translated to German are Arnaldur Indriðason, Yrsa Sigurðardóttir, Árni Þórarinsson, Viktor Arnar Ingólfsson, and the thriller writer Stefán Máni. Their work has also been translated to other languages.
