Einar Kárason and Gerður Kristný at Nordatlantens brygge

Tomorrow, Wednesday January 25th at 8pm, authors Einar Kárason and Gerður Kristný will be at Nordatlantens brygge in København.

Einar Kárason and Gerður Kristný have, each in their own way, explored the cultural heritage of the middle ages and based their original works on texts of that era. In his novels Óvinafagnaður (Fjendemøde) and Ofsi (Raseri) Einar Kárason presents his view of the 13th century Iceland, bringing new life to the stories of the Sturlungar clan. Gerður Kristný's latest book of poetry, Blóðhófnir (Blodhingst), is based upon the midieval poem Skírnismál.

Einar and Gerður will read from these books and discuss the various approaches to dealing with midieval texts.

This literary event is the first in a series of four, which Nordatlantens brygge has organized in cooperation with PILK (Projektgruppen Islandsk Litteratur i København).
